PERMANENT VOTE BY MAIL STATUS (Formerly Called Absentee)
As of January 2002, any voter may request permanent Vote by Mail voter status. This means that you would automatically receive a Vote by Mail ballot by mail for any election in which you are entitled to vote. You can remain a permanent Vote by Mail voter for as long as you wish. However, failure to return a voted Vote by Mail ballot for two general elections (EC 3206) will cause your “permanent Vote by Mail” standing to be canceled, and you would have to vote at your local polling place or reapply for permanent Vote by Mail status.
